Father Reynolds
Father Reynolds has always been a faithful servant of the Lord, a
priest since his young adulthood. And he's never regretted it.

What he has regretted is seeing the world around him change,
wallow and dive deep down into the darkest recesses of humanity,
where murder can happen even on the steps of his own church.

When a young priest serving in Rhode Island is killed for his car
keys, it was hard for Father Reynolds to not have a crisis of faith.
But he managed not to with much contemplation.

His beliefs are called into question when the Winchesters roll into
his town, investigating other murders.  Murders that were reportedly
on the behest of an angel.

He wanted badly to believe in angels, to know
that there was some good in the world still.  But
he was wrong, at least about an angel guiding
the lost souls into murder.  It was the young
murdered priest, a restless spirit, that with the
Winchesters' help, he managed to put at peace
by at last administering last rites.

That brush with the supernatural would not be
his last.  The Winchesters called him after the
incident at the eugenics lab.  As a priest, he
had access to information and relics that they
did not, and had the facilities to keep other
things safe.  He helped guide the young men
as they formed a society of the children like
Sam, finding at last, some peace and good in
the world in the most unlikely of sources.
